Many people who come to Wood Buffalo (incorrectly) think that this region was built only on oil, but Heritage Village teaches you about Fort McMurray before the oil sands. Aboriginal history, fur traders, early entrepreneurs, and the dynamic roots of this community - it’s all here. Couldn’t recommend checking this amazing place out enough, guaranteed you’ll have a different perspective about Fort McMurray once you’ve finished exploring!
